Notes on the Barn Door

photo barn doorThe name for this section comes from an old tradition. Many a farmer and rancher kept their "records" written on the sill around the old barn door. A bullet pencil, usually compliments of some feed company, was the writing instrument of choice.

You would find notations of the date animals were bought and sold, how much they weighted and what price they brought. There was a lot of history scratched on those old boards.

Since this is a general section and I certainly hope you will participate with your stories it just seems that "Notes on the Barn Door" pretty much says it all.

Use the CONTACT/COMMENT button to open a form that will allow you to write and submit your story. If you like, your stories will be posted for others to enjoy.

Just click the sub-titles under the NOTES ON THE BARN DOOR to read what is here.

As we used to say in the radio business, "Keep those cards and letters coming in."
